Twenty elderly women who were offered jobs in Malaysia and told to bring 'old clothes' with them have not been heard from since they crossed the border through the Sadao checkpoint on Sept 24. Mamakadee Sulong, of Yaha district, said a job broker had offered his mother Hamida Saleh, 57, work selling goods in Johor State. She had travelled to Malaysia with 20 other women through Sadao district of Songkhla on Sept 24. He drove to Johor and spent four days searching, but did not find any of the missing women. Thai ambassador to Malaysia Damrong Kraikruan said he was informed of the matter and was coordinating urgent efforts to help the missing women.
